Barnum Joins NREL Technical Review Panel for Solar Futures Study

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory invited Linton’s COO, Todd Barnum, to serve on the Technical Review Panel for the forthcoming Solar Futures Study. This is a new analysis sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office, launched in 2020 and expected to be completed sometime in 2021.

“We’re looking to build the foundations to guide the next decade of solar research, and explore the longer-term challenges and opportunities related to solar continuing to become a key contributor to the energy system through 2050,” Barnum explains.

The NREL focuses on creative answers to today's energy challenges. Their current capabilities in photovoltaics (PV) range across fundamental and applied research and development, including theory and modeling, materials deposition, device design, measurements and characterization, and reliability testing and engineering. NREL research projects encompass solar grid and systems integration, concentrating solar power, photovoltaic research, and solar market research and analysis.
