Linton Crystal Technologies Posts Great First Half-year with Multiple Solar, Semi Orders

Linton Crystal Technologies has seen a successful first half of 2021, despite travel restrictions. The company has booked several orders for 200 mm and 300 mm machines and related equipment.

“Like most companies, we had to rethink how we would continue to relate to and serve our customers long-distance in response to the pandemic,” says Ron Kramer, director of business development for LCT. “We have always prided ourselves on being responsive and getting staff on-site for both sales and service calls and the pandemic literally grounded us. So, we communicated in various other ways so customers knew what we could do to make crystal growing more efficient and productive across the solar, semiconductor and specialty industries. Our technical experts worked remotely and proficiently with customers who needed their support.”

Within the first quarter, LCT had already received an order for two 300mm machines and ancillary equipment from a new customer. Delivery of that order is anticipated in August. The company has since received several orders from companies looking to increase production in response to heavy demand.

Last month, LCT announced it had grown ingots larger than 5M in its newest Czochralski (CZ) process crystal grower, the KX380PV. This is the largest ingot grown in the solar industry to date and is expected to be a game changer in the solar industry. The company has seen significant interest in that machine.

“Companies are coming back from COVID. We’re seeing that firsthand in orders and inquires,” says Kramer. “Whether they’re startups looking to fill a need or existing customers ready to increase capacity, we’re able to help them meet their goals.”

Linton is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of equipment for producing monocrystalline ingots for the solar and semiconductor industries. The company specializes in silicon and produces equipment for materials such as germanium and gallium arsenide. They also provide technical support, process engineering support and replacement parts to help clients get businesses off the ground, improve productivity and continue to innovate. Linton is the exclusive owner of Kayex IP, acquired in 2013.
