Longi Solar Places $100 Million Czochralski Grower Order

Rochester, NY— Longi Solar has ordered Czochralski (CZ) process crystal growers valued at $100 million USD from Dalian Linton NC Machine Co. Ltd. This represents the third order of a significant number of growers in a year, since Longi began increasing its silicon ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity last spring. Engineers from Linton Crystal Technologies in Rochester, N.Y., are customizing the growers to Longi’s specific production and quality requirements.

“Among our many advantages are our engineering expertise and industry knowledge to customize growers to meet customers’ needs in the areas of production, efficiency, and as-grown crystal properties,” says Todd Barnum, COO of Linton Crystal Technologies. “As a world leader, Longi has very exacting standards and we appreciate that they trust us and keep coming back to us.”

Linton Crystal Technologies is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of CZ furnaces for producing monocrystalline ingots for the semiconductor, machined part and solar industries. The company specializes in silicon and produces equipment for materials such as germanium and gallium arsenide and InSb. They also provide diamond wire saws and specialized equipment for shaping and polishing ingots and cutting them into wafers. Additionally, LCT offers the technical and process engineering support and replacement parts to help clients get businesses off the ground, improve productivity and continue to innovate.
