Investment in Linton Crystal Technologies Growers Aids in Strong 2019 Finish for Longi Solar

Longi Solar has reported 2019 and first-quarter 2020 results that show increased revenue and earnings, with continued growth anticipated for this year. Throughout 2019, Longi increased its silicon ingot and wafer manufacturing capacity, purchasing more than 1,000 Czochralski (CZ) process crystal growers from Dalian Linton NC Machine Co. Ltd.

“Longi was committed to increasing their ability to meet global demand for monocrystalline silicon wafers and worked with our engineers to customize growers to their production and quality requirements. We’re proud our technical and product expertise could help them achieve that goal in a relatively short time frame,” says Todd Barnum, COO of Linton Crystal Technologies.

According to a press release, Longi’s revenue from operations increased by 49.62 percent annually, and annual monocrystalline silicon wafer sales were up by 139.17 percent. Its production capacity for monocrystalline silicon wafers has reached 42 GW. In 2020, Longi aims to reach a monocrystalline silicon wafer production capacity of 75 GW.

Linton Crystal Technologies is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of CZ furnaces for producing monocrystalline ingots for the semiconductor, machined part and solar industries. The company specializes in silicon and produces equipment for materials such as germanium and gallium arsenide and InSb. They also provide diamond wire saws and specialized equipment for shaping and polishing ingots and cutting them into wafers. Additionally, LCT offers the technical and process engineering support and replacement parts to help clients get businesses off the ground, improve productivity and continue to innovate.
